The Problem: Managing dates one item at a time is tedious when you are planning an entire semester. This is true for new classes, but also for existing classes since the ability to globally adjust imported dates never works for the way my institution designs new semesters.   I would like a spreadsheet format that shows all date related events on…

The Quizzes.Next assignment questions type "Categorization", "Matching", and "Sorting" currently don't allow for partial credit to be given.  In order to pacify my students and to give credit were credit is due I'm currently manually adjusting the scores on these questions. Very tedious!     Thus, I would appreciate if the Canvas team would add…

We would like the ability to set the grade posting policy within the new Gradebook at the Account and Subaccount level.   In our experience, the assumption is that the grades will be hidden from students by default.  Right now, the only way to adjust the policy is manually in each course. The Grade posting policy cannot be set in a Blueprint or…

A faculty member in Biology would like an option in the "fill in the blank" quiz questions for students to get multiple attempts for an answer. The example they gave was filling in the answer "photosynthesis." If the word is misspelled, it is marked as wrong, even if the student did no the answer, just not the spelling.

Teachers would like to print a report listing only Missing Assignments.  This report would be sent to academic support personnel to facilitate assignment completion.  Teachers should be able to print the "Missing Assignment Report" directly from Canvas.

It would be great if the text boxes in the SpeedGrader are accessible to the browser spellchecker.  At this time they are not.  I use Grammarly but it cannot access those boxes either.  I am so used to the spellchecker having my back that I am sure I have given students misspelled feedback. How embarrassing!

Many school districts offer Chromebooks to students, our included. And one way that many teachers collect evidence of student learning is by having the students record what is on their screens - presentations, solving math problems, scores from formative assessment tools, digital source collection, and so on.   As a result, students cannot…

This is a resurrected feature: LTI External Tools and Rubrics   The original text provided by the one and only Chris Hofer is as follows:   "When creating an Assignment in a course that uses the Submission Type of External Tool (Example: Turnitin LTI app), there isn't a way to add a Canvas rubric after the Assignment settings are saved.  The…

This is a feature that I was expecting to find in Canvas because I have used it in D2L Brightspace. A checklist is something that is added to a module and created by the instructor. Here's an article about it in D2L and here's a video tutorial.    Functionality The checklist would be interactive in that students could "check" the boxes of tasks…

Currently,  in the Chat History, the "Load more results" button is hidden by default. See the bottom section of "How Do I Use Chat as a Student." There is nothing intuitive about requiring users to simultaneously press the Shift and Tab keys (Option and Tab in Safari) on the keyboard to make the button appear. Especially now with the coronavirus…
