What are the CanvasLIVE event types?

When creating an event, you can choose between different event types.



MEET UPSInformal chats where people join to discuss a tool or topic of interest. Meet-ups include at least one facilitator to help jump-start the conversation.
  • Brainstorming ideas
  • Hosting office hours
  • Informal discussions
OFFICE HOURSOffice hours allow community members to schedule time to support and help others with their Canvas questions.
  • Demonstrating a feature
  • Demonstrating 3rd-party integrations
  • (No demos of features in closed beta, please)
TWITTER CHATSInformal reverse Q&A on Twitter. The 'host' of the chat posts 3-6 questions related to a topic on Twitter over the course of 1 hour and others chime in with their comments and feedback. These should include #hashtags.
  • Meeting new people
  • Engaging in a topic
  • Getting a pulse on a topic
CANVAS TALKSEvents presented by one person or a group of people on a specific tool or topic of interest. It often includes a slide deck with open Q&A throughout (or at the end of) the session.
  • Sharing tips and tricks
  • Topic deep-dives
  • Processes & checklists
FIRESIDE CHATSCurated events where a moderator brings together a group of 2-4 people for a cafe-style discussion around a theme or topic.
  • Sharing different POVs
  • Bringing together experts to address challenges, needs, and/or best practices
VIRTUAL CONFERENCESOn-site conferences that are streaming all/some sessions or 100% virtual conferences. This includes UnConferences, too!
  • Day(s) filled with multiple sessions/tracks
  • Keynotes
  • Free or Fee-based events
EDUTAINMENTHost a virtual party or online play games with colleagues - or anything you think falls under ‘edu-tainment’.
  • Leveling up a 'meet-up' with some fun party-type flair
  • Online trivia
  • Fun contests
