Thank you to all who attended our September 2019 Canvas CIG meeting and made it the engaging session that it was. The session was jam-packed with evidence-based teaching strategies to effectively improve student success, equity, and attitudes.
As promised, we’re sharing links to various resources that were shared during the session below. Most of these links can also be found within the slide deck itself. For those of you who were unable to attend, don’t fret, we recorded the Zoom session and it can be viewed below the resources section.
- Doug’s slide deck
- Doug’s Evidence Based course in Canvas
- Peralta Rubric
- College Students’ Sense of Belonging by Terrell L. Strayhorn (full price version. Will update if we or anyone else finds a low-cost version)
- Transparent Assignment Template
- Sample Transparent Assignments
- Carnegie Melon’s Solve a Teaching Problem website
One question that was brought up during our session is still open ended is this:
“How do you organize your sub accounts to help with data on evidence based teaching?”
This is an open question that we’re hoping others in the community can help share some knowledge about. We’ll also be sharing this question out to the Canvas Community as a whole to see if there are those outside of our CIG who are battling with the same type of question.
See You Next Time!
Thank you all again for engaging in our September Canvas CIG, and a huge thank you to Doug Holton for presenting and sharing with us. As always, if you know others who are interested or you think may be interested in joining the CIG, please spread the word.
