Description

Online tutoring provides a unique digital footprint of the collaboration between a tutor and a student. During the online tutoring session, learning is documented and insights can be gleaned. Tutor.com provides this data and insights from tutoring sessions to our clients through our Predictive Insights Data Analysis Service.

Highlights

During this session, Tutor.com’s Director of Product, Jake Ramsey will present an overview of our Predictive Insights service and how this service can help colleges and universities identify at risk students and accelerate the intervention timeline. Colleges can also use Predictive Insights data to inform curriculum development. Aaron Metzcar, Dean of Online Studies at Belhaven University will share how the university is using data from students’ tutoring sessions to support data driven curriculum decisions. Aaron will also share how the use of Tutor.com and other initiatives have helped Belhaven University improve their retention rates.

 

Presenters

Jake Ramsey – Director of Product, Tutor.com:


He is knowledgeable about all core Tutor.com systems and integration protocols, including integration with the Canvas LMS. Mr. Ramsey has worked for Tutor.com for seven years. He majored in History at the University of Florida and is the company’s representative to the IMS Global Consortium.


Aaron Metzcar – Dean of Online Studies, Belhaven University:


Aaron has spent his career in education. He has served in education for several years acting as both a teacher and principal. In Higher Ed., Aaron has served as adjunct faculty and worked in the areas of program development and faculty development. Presently, he serves as the Dean of Online Studies at Belhaven University, overseeing faculty orientation, training, mentoring, monitoring, evaluation and development for adjunct faculty as well as the enhancement of the online programs. He earned a BSE in elementary education from Wright State University and completed a Master’s degree in education and a Doctorate in organizational leadership at IWU.
