NOTE: This is part of a 3-event series called Videos in the Classroom.

Description

You’ve embedded videos into all of your courses. But you haven’t experienced the epic rise in classroom engagement that you hoped to see. In fact, students are still not truly watching (or processing) your videos. So, now what?

The truth is that video is no longer intrinsically engaging for students as it once was. We want students to be active learners, but this isn’t always achieved through passive consumption. We get it through interaction and collaboration.

In this session, ARC trainer Nicholas Demas will discuss videos as they relate to assignments and grading in Canvas through tools like YouTube and ARC. You may be surprised to learn that HOW your students watch videos can reveal more about their learning processes than if they simply watch (or don’t).
