Using separate tabs in your web browser can be beneficial and more efficient for a number of reason.
Rather than using the back button which can be inconvenient and time-consuming, tabs allow you to keep multiple pages open as-is, without having to navigate back to where you were, or wait for pages to reload.
Having multiple browser windows open can clutter your desktop space, and use more of your computer’s memory. Consolidating your pages into one window helps with both of these issues.
Using multiple tabs while browsing is so common now that many web designers will design their pages with tab browsing specifically in mind. So being familiar with tab browsing will also make web page designs make more sense to you.
The following videos explain how to create a new tab in each of the most popular web browsers.
