It would be nice if there were a sort from ungraded to graded feature for assignments in the gradebook. This would help spot resubmissions and the like more easily.
Hello, Justine Shubert and Welcome to the Canvas Community! If you're using SpeedGrader to grade assignment submissions, an instructor can easily sort by ungraded by changing SpeedGrader settings, as described in How do I sort the student list in SpeedGrader? Using the "Sort student list.. by submission status (needs grading, not submitted, etc." option will display ungraded submissions, including resubmissions, to the top of the list. Once you've enabled this setting once in SpeedGrader, it will apply to all of the assignments across a course.
Will using SpeedGrader to grade assignments, rather than entering the grades in the Gradebook, address your workflow?
That will help! I didn’t realize we had that option!
I'm glad to hear it, Justine! That's the setting I always used when I graded submissions, and I found it incredibly helpful; I set it once at the beginning of each semester, and then forgot about it until the next semester rolled around. Since your idea is specific to sorting options in the Gradebook, we'll keep it open for voting, but I wanted to offer what I found to be a viable solution.
