When observers (advisors) login to Canvas and click on View Grades, it takes them to a page with 'Linked Student Accounts,' which contains a list of links to student advisvee grades in each course. The list is currently sorted by most recent advisee enrollment added to the observer's account. Ordering the advisees and courses this way makes it difficult to locate courses and advisees on the list, especially in scenarios where the observer is linked to 20+ students with several enrollments each (as is the case with our advisors who have observer accounts). For example, the list currently looks something like this:

    Linked Student Accounts

    John Johnson, Special Topics: Criminalistics

    90.0%

Thomas Thompson, Social Identity in a Diverse World

    70.0%

Andy Anderson, Special Topics: Personal History

    100.0%

    John Johnson, Interdisciplinary Studies Seminar

    80.0%

    Zander Zimmerman, Creative Nonfiction

    50.0%

Thomas Thompson, Special Topics: Personal History

    60.0%

It would be extremely helpful to (at least) alphabetize the list like this:
    Linked Student Accounts

Andy Anderson, Special Topics: Personal History

    100.0%

    John Johnson, Special Topics: Criminalistics

    90.0%

    John Johnson, Interdisciplinary Studies Seminar

    80.0%

Thomas Thompson, Social Identity in a Diverse World

    70.0%

Thomas Thompson, Special Topics: Personal History

    60.0%

    Zander Zimmerman, Creative Nonfiction

    50.0%

The sort order suggested above is the minimal improvement that should occur. There are third-party solutions that provide much more useful and navigable functions/features (Drop-Out Detective comes to mind) - but it seems the same functionality should be native to the Canvas LMS. The current view and features provided to Advisors in Canvas are nearly useless - the process really deserves a complete overhaul.
