It's only a small issue but one that's causing the student experience to be fragmented.
In regards to module requirements, the language under each module item is termed "Mark completed" and when manually checked by the student - "Marked completed".
While this is exactly what happens, students glance over the language or don't recognise that 'Mark complete' means they have to engage and click this as completed.
Alter the language around 'mark complete' so students are aware they need to engage with this learning resource before moving to the next.
I don't particularly have the right terminology for it personally, I'm keen to hear if anyone else has had this issue or if they have advice on what might suit better.
