We think that this suggestion might be particularly important in view of re-enforcing the awareness of data protection for our users.
We have come across a few cases when some of our courses were selected in Settings to be visible to Public (as opposed to "Module" - private). In some cases this was justified as the courses had to be available publicly. But in some cases the courses should have remained set to private visibility.
Currently you only have an explanation in the Public option for Visibility "Anyone with this URL", which does not fully describe what happens as we found that these Public courses were also indexed on Google, Yahoo, Bing and other search results.
Please would it be possible for Canvas to change this message to include a bit more detailed information on what happens when the courses is made Public (i.e.available to anyone on www?) Please see a screenshot attached.
