Studio Storage File Types

Is there a way that you can add all filetypes or most filetypes such as PDF, Word, Excel, MPG, etc... into the Studio Area? I just looked at YuJa and a big part of there system is to have a repository of everything in one place. Very powerful. Just a thought. Would love to see it.

Hi JC, thanks for submitting your idea to improve Studio. Are you able to elaborate further on the idea or provide a use case? Am I understanding correctly that you would like the ability to upload a variety of file types alongside your Studio media files? Are you utilizing Studio in a course, and if so, does the current Files storage area meet your needs?

Hello Emily,

Thanks for the email. The reason I ask is because I saw this with YuJa and It is really nice to have all files in one place. Right now Canvas Users have two spots to think about a retrieving Movies, YouTube Links, PDFS, Documents, etc… I am a believer in KISS and by consolidating all these filetypes into one repository. WOW!

As part of the new Ideas & Themes process, all ideas in Idea Conversations were reviewed by the Product Team. Any Idea that was associated with an identified theme was moved to the new Idea & Themes space. Any Idea that was not part of the move is being marked as Archived. This will preserve the history of the conversations while also letting Community members know that Instructure will not explore the request at this time.
