Thank you for your idea submission, John Martin. This appears to be an issue with JIVE (the platform used to host the Canvas Community). While I totally agree with your reasoning, this is not something we typically have control over since we don't actually have that much influence over this software.
It appears you were trying to create a new idea, right? Sometimes a quick refresh does the trick. (Of course, depending on when this happened, it could also be a residual effect of the DDoS issue from last Friday). Anyway, if this continues to happen around a specific content item or action, please let us know. The very least, we can look into it with JIVE support.
This idea will move to the Meta Community Group where all other ideas/feedback related to JIVE exist.
