Within a Canvas quiz, students currently always have access to the external tools for an essay (open-ended) question. Although this could be good in some instances so that students can respond with more than just text, it would be nice if there was an option to turn this off for students within a quiz to keep them from accessing outside sources unless they're needed. For example, for a quiz on literary techniques, I wouldn't want students to be able to access a youtube video about mood or tone to help them if they forgot what it was (see screenshot below). I brought this up as a question within the community and it looks like there's a way for creators to put in a code to disable these buttons (thanks to Nazmus Nasir), but it would be much easier for teachers if it was just an option within Canvas when creating a quiz.
