Today I just got a "quest" to watch some videos about mobile things on Canvas here in the Community. I don't know much about the mobile experience since I do not have a smartphone of my own, so I thought this might be a good way to learn more about this.
The first video was not captioned, so I abandoned my "quest" pretty quickly since I had no idea what was going on with the sound off. I have an audio processing disability that can make it hard for me to follow audio content unless I am looking at the speaker, and I rely on captions to understand most video content (except things like this: Corgi on a Carousel - YouTube when the visuals speak for themselves). If the Canvas Community wants to be accessible to a wide range of users, it's really, really important to include captions or transcripts of video content.
