Arc needs more detail for Youtube imports

    arc videos that are imported from youtube need to have better attribution, description and a more obvious link to the source.

     

    This is especially the case for creative commons Attribution licensed videos on Youtube, where attribution is explicitly required.

     

    Also, if an academic institution prescribes a central system like Canvas and Arc, that system needs to support some standard of academicintegrity. I've looked at the Youtube Terms of Service, including the API terms and it seems that attribution and linking are a minimum requirement (see 10.3, 11 and 12 of the API Terms for example). 

     

    Some comments and discussion around this is recorded on the Arc page but it seems to me that Arc does less than the bare minimum and needs to do more in terms of best practice.

     

    This is especially important for institutional support staff who might be tasked with checking copyright and academic integrity of a course. Where Arc/Youtube content is concerned, it needs to be quick and easy to check and verify that content.
