One of the classes that used to show up on canvas is not there anymore as an icon to click on.
Thanks for your concern. My instructor got back to me and was able to fix
the problem. Whew!

Welcome to the community, we're glad you came here for your question. Are you no longer to see this course on your dashboard when you log in? Courses may not always show up on the dashboard for various reasons but luckily you can change which courses you see on your dashboard easily. Here is a guide that shows you how to access all of your courses, even ones you had in the past: How do I view my Canvas courses as a student? You can then customize which courses you see as soon as you log in, here is a guide that shows how to do that. How do I customize my Courses list as a student?
It can be really nice to be able to customize which courses you see and which you don't. I know I did it as a student and was glad there was a way to go back and see old courses.
If you are still having problems finding the courses you registered for I would suggest you contact your school's Canvas support/admin and they can help locate why you were unable to find the course.
Hi Minerva Tamayo,
As Tim Maw suggests, definitely contact your Canvas or eLearning support, as they may well have a policy for deleting or disabling past courses. We fully delete expired courses after 5 quarters past the active quarter. If a similar practice is in place at your institution, that would explain why you can no longer see your past course(s).
I hope this is helpful.
The class I am trying to view is a current class that I am enrolled in that
has not finished yet. We still need to take a final exam for the class in
which I need to view the material for soon. I did call Canvas for help and
the person I talked to said that the class that I'm trying to view was set
to conclude at midnight (earlier today) and to contact my teacher about the
problem ( I guess she can change the date and have it show up again). I
emailed my teacher and she has not responded back yet. What's weird and
does not make sense is that a classmate of mine can still view the class on
When we encounter this situation at our school, I advise the student to 'save' the response from Canvas Support, and to also contact your instructor's Dean with the information, only if no response from your instructor. Their Dean might have more options in contacting your instructor. This should hopefully be some protection from being held accountable for course work that you weren't able to submit due to the course being 'concluded' early. It is not that uncommon for and instructor to misinterpret what exactly ending/concluding a course at 12:00 means. Typically, when this happens at our school, the instructor works something out with those that were inadvertently denied access.
I hope this alleviates some anxiety.
