Is there any reason SpeedGrader and Download Submissions are not available in the Assignment options (snowman, vertical ellipses) in the New Gradebook? These are much used features our faculty appreciate.
Hi, it looks like the Download Submissions is only on the assignment page and no longer linked from the Grades page. There is also a link to the SpeedGrader there. To get to the SpeedGrader from the New Gradebook, select the score/icon for a student and an arrow appears, Select the arrow to pull up the submission details tray, which has a link to the SpeedGrader.
Thanks, Gregory. I was aware of the SpeedGrader access point, which is probably adequate although it does seem to be an unnecessary capability removal. Our instructors typically go to the assignment gradebook drop-down to first Mute the Assignment, then Download Submissions (if needed), and then access SpeedGrader. That seems to me to be a relatively efficient way to work, so I wonder what the reason was for these to be removed.
I agree here Nancy LaChance. It was much more convenient to have the SpeedGrader link in the assignment's drop-down menu. Now you have to launch the grade detail tray to open SpeedGrader from the gradebook, which is an extra click we didn't have in the old gradebook. I would also like to see the statuses in SpeedGrader. Right now, a teacher has to go into SpeedGrader to read and score the submission. Then, if they have to make any updates to the status they have to open the grade detail tray. It's a really choppy workflow at the moment.
The download option is now available from the assignment drop-down. I think maybe they added that back in. It was a great add
Here are the lessons that show each behavior:
How do I download all student submissions for an assignment in the New Gradebook? (This only works for assignment types that include submissions to download)
How do I get to SpeedGrader from the New Gradebook?
Hope that helps!
