my canvas page is in spanish. i speak and write english
If this is for the entire Canvas site, then it's likely that your user settings are set to Spanish. To change this, go to Account and then Preferences. There is an Edit Settings button that will allow you change the language and timezone. This is explained in the Canvas documentation page: How do I change the language preference in my user account as a student? The default language from Canvas is English, but if your institution has decided that Spanish should be the default (see the next paragraph), then you may need to explicitly set it to English US rather than the System Default. I've included a screen shot of what mine looks like -- You want to make sure it says English (US) [circle 2] rather than System Default [circle 1].
It is also possible that the institution has set Spanish to be the language at the account level for everyone. That's unlikely for colleges in the US with predominantly English speakers, but if the school was primarily Spanish speakers, it might have been done. Canvas supports it, which is extremely useful in countries that do not speak English. If you are seeing Spanish for everything and you check your account settings and it's set to English (not System Default) and that doesn't fix things, then you may need to talk at someone at your institution about it. The Canvas documentation How do I change the language preference in an account? explains how this setting works.
If it's just one course that is in Spanish, then it's likely that the instructor of that course specified the language for that course to be Spanish. This may be popular in foreign language courses where they want the student to be immersed in the language. It may also happen if the instructor misunderstands the settings and thinks it's asking what language they use, rather than what the official language for the course is. If the instructor has set it for a course, you'll need to talk to them. An explanation of how to do this is found here: 4152,91044
In all of those pages I've linked to, there are blue boxes of notes at the top. They are especially important for pointing out things and giving warnings.
Oh yeah, I forgot that if your entire page is set to Spanish, you may not be able to follow those instructions in my first suggestion. Here's what they look like in Spanish.
If you happen to be looking at the App and seeing Spanish, there isn't (or at least there wasn't) a way to change the language preference there. You have to sign into the web version of Canvas to change it. You may have to log out and back into the App before the change is recognized.
Hi Becky Lawal
Welcome to the community. You should be able to adjust the language in the account settings area unless a course Setting by your instructor overrides it.

Here is the document with details:
How do I change the settings in my user account as a student?
Please let us know if that doesn’t help.
