I am unable to see the discussion my students have submitted in speed grader. I get this message:
However, nothing is showing below. #discussionbaord
But if the Discussion was still set to be a group discussion, even removing the groups may not solve the issue. Any replies may indeed be gone. You cannot remove the checkbox for it even being a group discussion, to begin with. (You can remove it, but it re-enables itself whenever you do with a group discussion.) It may be time for Canvas Support to get involved, I'm afraid. James Jones offers a clever work-around for comments in that thread that I linked to, above, but I do not think this will help for the actual student submissions.
Welcome to the Canvas Community!
Speedgrader will display the comments of an individual student. If the student has no comments, there will be nothing to display. Are you sure this particular student submitted a comment to the discussion?
Yes becauase the message this student has no submissions will appear when they didn't submit anything.
Hi Nichole Paul Welcome to the Canvas Community. There was a bit a deja vu when I saw this question, because I was involved in a very similar conversation just last week. This apparently happens if an instructor either mistakenly created a group discussion and/or did not include all students in the group set. You can read about this here: Student Discussion Posts not Showing in Speedgrader . The information mentioned in the various posts there should help...I hope!
I placed them in groups and them deleted the groups and I still get the same message.
