Porter, Canvas Commons is still very much alive and well. Admins for a school can elect to enable or disable access to Canvas Commons across an entire account, so if you no longer see it in your global navigation, please check with your school's admin to see if they have made changes.
Great to know! So I'm actually an admin with my Canvas account. Excuse my ignorance, but where do I go to enable it? I can't seem to find it anywhere.

But now you've got me curious: Did Commons just mysteriously disappear, or have you just started at a new school? The former will require some investigation, whereas the latter could make sense.
