Currently i facing issue on SSO(Single sign on) , i had my hrms portal application,student will be logged in from my portal application if login success , it should be redirected canvas lms,kindly some one help on this issue
Can you describe in more detail how you have your SSO configured on Canvas?
You must start by configuring your SSO authentication as a third-party authentication source for Canvas, per the instructions atHow do I configure third-party authentication providers for a Canvas account?
There are some more detailed instructions for setting up specific kinds of authentication providers, such as ADFS/SAML:Configuring ADFS (SAML) and Canvas Authentication
Thanks for you time, currently i configured SAML( One Login) these are the configuration settings
'idp' => array ( 'entityId' => 'https://app.onelogin.com/saml/metadata/ef0f086f-804e-4dbf-93d0-15f99a1f3929', 'singleSignOnService' => array ( 'url' => 'https://focus.onelogin.com/trust/saml2/http-post/sso/914411', ), 'singleLogoutService' => array ( 'url' => 'https://focus.onelogin.com/trust/saml2/http-redirect/slo/914411', ),
and in canvas lms,for authentication service is SAML,below image is configurations
I don't know much about the configuration of the SSO itself, but in Canvas, do you have the SSO IdP set as the first authentication provider? Or are you going to Canvas with the URL listed in the Auth Provider settings as the direct login for that provider (should be something like "/login/saml/4" (or some other number), so you would be going to Canvas using "https://<my server>.instructure.com/login/saml/4"?
I had one WEB Application(PHP) portal students will be logging in to my own portal,if login success im redirecting to (https://focusedusolutions.instructure.com/?login_success=1) iam using SAML IDP,but its not working ,how can i achieve this( Requirement : if login success in my portal,it should redirect to canvas lms dashboard page).
Are the user going to the Canvas URL for the desired authentication provider first? The way the SSO functions for us in Canvas is:
1) The SSO is configured as the first Authentication Provider in the Canvas Authentication Provider settings.
2) Users go to the Canvas URL, and are automatically redirected to the SSO
3) After signing on via the SSO, users are redirected back to Canvas
To use the SSO to login, users *must* go to Canvas first and be redirected to the SSO. The SSO (IdP), having information about the Service Provider (SP) which is making the request (Canvas), should be set to redirect the user back to the SP when they ache successfully authenticated.
Yes SSO IdP set as the first authentication provider is saml, and mines is /login/saml/38, but it is asking idp entity id?? what is idp entity id?? from where i can get??
The IdP entity ID is part of the metadata (I believe) that comes from your IdP. You may want to look at the detailed setup information atConfiguring Shibboleth and Canvas Authentication
or contact Canvas Support for some more in-depth assistance.
