Gradebook Columns as Percentages

I notice in the new gradebook I can change how grades are displayed (either points or percentages). However, instead of doing the math in percentages, the gradebook is doing the math in points. Let me explain. If I have two quizzes and a student gets 50% on one quiz and 100% on another quiz, I want it to record a total of 75% (using the assignment tool to weight the grades in categories). Currently, it adds the points for the quizzes and calculates its own percentages.

In the case I mentioned, there were 50 points on the first quiz and 10 points on the second. Of course I could go back at the end of the semester and change all of the quizzes to have the same number of points, but I don't want to do that. As a result, I end up telling the students to simply ignore the grades they see on Canvas, since they will be wildly inaccurate. Is there any way to fix this.
