Does Canvas allow interaction with instructor and classmates in asynchronous mode
Hi again, James Ali
I just answered your very similar question two days ago at Can Canvas be useed to communicate with instructor and classmates in both a syncronous and asynchronous mode?
There is no "Asynchronous mode" in Canvas, and I am not certain that this really is a thing at all, All asynchronous really means is you're doing it now, and I will be responding/or reacting to it at some other time. I write now, you read later. You write later, I read even later. It is how content can be engaged in by users in almost any learning management system anywhere.
Synchronous is a horse of a different color altogether! Synchronous interactive tools are specifically designed so the more than one person can do it together. But, it also is not a "mode" in Canvas. In your previous question, you will see the synchronous communication tools specified in my lists.
I will go so far as to say that almost anything (if not everything) in a Canvas classroom can be used either synchronously or asynchronously!
I hope this helps,
