set course start date
Hello Lauren Trujillo Welcome to the Canvas Community. I'm not exactly sure what your question is here. However, if I were to guess, you're wanting to know how to change the course dates in your course. Assuming that you are an instructor, you can follow the instructions in this Guide: 4152,57088 It may be the case, however, that your school has limited some abilities such as changing the dates on your own. If this applies to you, then you will want to reach out to a local Canvas administrator at your school to see if they can change the start/end dates for your course. Here's a page I found on your school's website that might be of help: Center for eLearning.
I hope this will help, Lauren. Good luck to you!
How do I create videos using the rich text editor using a screen share, not a webcam? I like to create a weekly video walking my students through the assignments on the canvas portal so I don’t need a WebCam but I need to show my screen.
Hello Lauren Trujillo...
Do you know if your school has purchased Canvas Studio (an Instructure product)? How do I use Canvas Studio? You would see a "Studio" icon on the left hand side of your global navigation menu if you had access to it. You can create screen capture recording using Canvas Studio. How do I record a screen capture video in Canvas Studio? If you do not have Studio for your school, then you will need to find an alternative software to use that your school may have already purchased. I hope this helps, Lauren.
Thanks Chris! So cool of you to take such good care of us.
I will check it out. Happy Friday!
I'm just a fellow Community member like yourself ... working at a Technical College in Wisconsin. Happy to help where I can!
Yes thanks. I was able to record a video through studio and now it is in “my uploads”. How do I move it to the modules I have created?
I want to make weekly overview videos of the assignments and post them in the weekly folders/modules.
Hi Lauren Trujillo...
You aren't really "moving" the video content from Studio...but you can embed the video in content within your course. There are a few different ways you can do this:
I hope these Guides will be of help to you, Lauren.
With the stress of setting up classes and wrapping up final grades from last term, I really appreciate your quick responses and spoon-feeding me the videos based on several choices so I don’t have to hunt.
You’re the best!
