How do I delete old courses from Canvas?
Hi Camila Scott,Fully deleting a course completely and permanently removes it from your institution - meaning no one, not even your administrators - have access. Canvas actually doesn't recommend fully deleting courses, but if you simply don't wish to see a course on your dashboard or course menu anymore, there are several options short of completely deleting the course:You can "conclude" your course from the settings page (see How do I conclude a course at the end of a term as an instructor?), or change the due dates (see How do I change the start and end dates for a course?)Or, to just remove it from your dashboard, select "Courses" from the side menus in Canvas, then select "All Courses". This will take you to a list of all courses you are currently enrolled in. To the left of each course is a star icon. Click the star icon to remove/add courses to your dashboard. Esther, I am not an instructor. I'm a student and I have classes from last year showing in the dashboard which makes it confusing.
I would like to delete those classes so I can only have the ones for this year.
Please guide me!!
Gotcha! Sorry!So what you're going to want to do is go to the side menu on the left and select "Courses" then select "All Courses". This will take you to a list of all the courses you have been enrolled in. To the left of each course is a star icon. Click the star icon to remove old courses from your dashboard. (The star should be white if you DO NOT want to see it in your courses menu, and filled in if you DO want to see it)Hopefully that should help you sort it out!
No, please see image... the 7th Grade Pre - Algebra shows and that is from last year....
I want to remove that class so I can only see the ones for this year.

Since you are a student in the course you will need to contact the instructor of the course to either remove your enrollment from the course or conclude the course.
You should be able to email them using the "Inbox" from within Canvas.

Hmm, that's definitely weird. Try starring the course, clicking back to the dashboard, and then un-starring it, and refreshing the page, sometimes that can help jar the system a little bit but if that doesn't work you can check out the answers to a similar question here: How do I remove previous courses from my dashboard?, check with your instructor, or (if your school has this button installed on your page) submit a report/ticket to Canvas IT (check out this article for resources: How do I get help with Canvas as a student?Good luck!
