I have updated my Chrome browser yet I continue to receive error messages when I log on to Canvas saying my browser is not supported. Any suggestions that may help?
What specific version of Chrome are you using, and on what operating system? I'm not getting any error with Chrome version 76.0.3809.87.
The current list of supported browser versions is at Supported Web Browsers
Honestly I'm not sure. I unistalled the older version and reinstalled the new yet but if I go through Google Chrome via my home page icon I do not receive the error. Apparently my tech savvy is very limited.

I have a faculty member with this same problem. The warning about unsupported browser shows at each page load within Canvas. It's driving her crazy. Also using Chrome.
I am not seeing that error with Chome 79.0.3945.117. What specific Chrome release version are they using?
There are instructions for checking and updating at Update Google Chrome - Computer - Google Chrome Help
Faculty running 73.0.3683.86 (Official Build)(64-bit) - can't upgrade without network admin assistance. Sigh.
Faculty member wonders if issue could be related to getting a version directly from Chrome download vs an Enterprise version.
The current list of supported browser versions is always listed atSupported Web Browsers
All of a sudden, students on Chromebooks are getting messaged that Google Chrome version is unsupported. Staff with brand new laptops are seeing similar issues. Neither could be more than one or two versions behind. Is this a common issue, to see an error if Canvas users fall behind on Google Chrome updates?
Instructure updates the list of supported browser versions on a regular basis. Usually, it is the current version and one version back, so it's quite possible that a browser two versions back would be considered out of date by Canvas. You can always see what browsers are currently supported browsers atSupported Web Browsers
