I have two classes that are identical that I want to be able to duplicate the material without having to make each course from scratch
Hello Brice Baggarley. You can copy a whole course by following these steps or you can take advantage of a few other tools Canvas has if you do not want them to be exact, and after you do the initial copy.
How do I copy content from another Canvas course using the Course Import tool?
With the other option, 2 are available to you now and the 3rd might be available if your institution has turned it on.
1st, you can import course content directly from another course:
How do I select specific content as part of a course import?
2nd, you can use Canvas commons to share resources with yourself or other instructors:
How do I share a resource to Commons?
3rd, if your institution has turned it on, there is now a direct copy/share option:
How do I use Direct Share to copy an assignment to another course?
Hope this helps!
Hi Brice Baggarley Welcome to the Canvas Community!
In addition to the options offered by Nick Wilson, another option is to cross-list your two courses if they are identical and especially if you will continue to create content throughout the term.
How do I cross-list a section in a course as an instructor?
From the guide:
This feature is helpful for instructors who teach several sections of the same course and only want to manage course data in one location.
Hope one of the options works out for you,Cheers - Shar
