I am using Canvas this semester, having used D2L in the past. I've seen the deadline notice in Canvas, but I do not understand what cross listing is?
Cross-listing is the way that multple classes can be grouped together. For example, I might be teaching two sections of HIST312, but I want just one place to upload content, conduct assessments, etc. In this case I would use the internal cross-listing tool during the window it's open (roughly two weeks prior to the beginning of fall, spring, and summer). The other kind of cross-listing is what we are used to in Los Rios, like how computer familiarization is both a computer science class and a journalism class. That kind of cross-listing is handled automatically.
Each cross-listed class becomes a section inside a Canvas course, and it's easy to give distinct due dates to different sections. Also the Grades page can be viewed either by section or all sections.
I'm going to assume this question is answered. Please add a comment if you have additional questions.
