How do you download documents on the canvas community?
Steven, ah, I see the issue. This isn't actually a file, it's a document (so basically a web-page). But, what you can do is click on "Actions" (upper right corner) and select "View as PDF." From there you should be able to save the document to your computer.
Steven, I'd be happy to help! Are you trying to download a document from the Community to your computer or upload a document from your computer to the Community? If it's the latter, then you should be able to go to any group that you're a member of, click on Content, and then "Upload a File" (on the left normally). You can then copy and paste this URL (to the file you just uploaded) anywhere in the Community and it will provide a direct link to the file.
I am trying to download a file from the community.
You should be able to click on it and have the option to save it. Do you mind providing the link to the file you're trying to download so I can better help?
What are the Canvas Community guidelines?
And, as a side note, if you just like to attach the file directly to a post in the Community (without uploading it to a group first) you can start creating a message/reply and then click "Use Advanced editor." When you do this the option to attach a file will show up on the bottom left.
I use the adding a file to a group method if I think I'm going to be referencing that file in other/multiple discussions/posts in the Community. I use the attaching it to a reply method (above) if I think it's a one time deal and only really relevant to that specific discussion.
Hope this helps!
