On my dashboard the cards are flashing and I can't get into them, how do I fix this problem?
I've had that happen in the past, especially with slower or congested connections and it's unable to download all of the information in a timely fashion. The dashboard course cards sit there and appear to flash as information is loaded. Sometimes it's temporary and just network traffic and it fixes itself when things speed up.
The first thing I would try is to reload the page or force a page reload. You can try holding the shift while hitting the refresh button, but you may also want to holding the control key while pressing F5 (Cmd + R on a Mac). Refresh your cache - When hitting F5 just isn't enough!
There was an update to Canvas over the weekend, so if the regular refresh doesn't work, then I would try clearing the cache on the browser: How do I clear my browser cache on a PC? or How do I clear my browser cache on a Mac?
Hi Amanda Gray...
That doesn't sound good. First question for you...which web browser are you using? If you're using Internet Explorer or Edge, have you tried using Chrome or Firefox instead to see if the issue persists?
I'm using chrome. It works fine on another computer and I haven't done anything differently.
Thank you so much! Clearing the cache worked!
I’ve had that happen as well and in addition to the advice you’ve I’ve already gotten, I’ll add that I’ve been able to work around it by clicking on Courses (on the left) from the main home screen and then selecting my course from there.
I had it happen to me when I was in Firefox and it was not up to date. I updated my browser and it cleared up. *fingers crossed it stays that way*
