Believe it or not, but the new release is the penultimate Production release of 2018. We have had a lot of great features rolled into the product this year, and this release will be no different with over 10 updated features planned this weekend. Most notably the new gradebook which will be available for you to turn on as a feature option and the ability to copy a Rubric Criterion range, part of the custom work being developed by our dear friends over at Kingston University.
Before you get stuck into all of the fantastic updates I have for you, we just wanted to take the opportunity to thank everyone that completed the recent customer survey. We will be reviewing your feedback over the coming weeks and this will feed directly into our department's and our personal action plans for the coming months, so look out for that.
Finally, if you are doing some cool things in Canvas, please let us know, as we would love to share your good practice with the wider Canvas community.
“What is a unique thing you’ve seen somebody do in Canvas?
This is still very much a beta feature that is still being developed, but if you have some keen testers that understand this and are willing to work with us as we perfect the feature, then we would recommend that you start using/testing the new gradebook. At some point in the future, the new gradebook will become the default gradebook and it would be great to get your input into the finished product as we build it.
Highlights of new features:
Rubrics Criterion Duplication
Criterions can be duplicated within a rubric. This feature allows instructors and course designers to easily copy and modify existing criterions.
For more information about this feature please see the Production Release Notes
NB: All times are in GMT
If you cannot attend a session and would like to be sent the post event recording, please add a response to the “Will you be attending” question on the event page and the recording will be sent to you after the event.
If you are interested in doing your own CanvasLive session, please register your interest here and of course let us know.
BluePrint Courses Recording
Training and discussion about blueprint courses. Blueprint courses are a great way to create, deploy, and control course shells. Utilizing blueprint courses can create a more consistent experience for students and teachers as well as give the administrator extra tools to control and update course shells on the fly.

Anonymous and Moderated Marking
While this feature is not being rolled out in this release, we know that a number of you are keen to see what the new Anonymous and Moderated Marking solution will look like.
Our International Product Manager has been working hard on this and has produced a video, which you can access here that will take you through the features anticipated functionality.

Sudan + Canvas
At a country level, the main US sanctions against Sudan have now been lifted, and consequently we have been given the green light to remove it from ours.
The change should be in effect right now!
