Whether as the teacher, trainer, admin, etc. of your Canvas instance...just trying to get a feel for "how low" others are going (or trying to go) in their elementary Canvas integration. Thanks!
Hi Josh Decker,
I've seen Canvas used in PreK through Higher Ed successfully. I think one thing to consider is what's the purpose of using Canvas in PreK-3 vs 4-12 vs Higher Ed? In PreK-3 the goal might be to share information and make content available 24/7 for parents and students, but not necessarily as an assignment collection tool. Prek-3 online engagement is going to look different from a 10th grade class.
I am very interested in how Canvas can be used in lower graders. In our district, all teachers and students 5-12 use Canvas. It is optional for 4th grade teachers/students. I would love to see it used at the 3rd grade level as well.
While we currently only have it rolled out to 6-12, all students K-12 technically have access. After seeing a K classroom with only 5 Chromebooks and watching those kiddos jump right on to Canvas, find their assignment, navigate to Seesaw, and complete the task, I would love to see if move down to our lower levels in the 2017-2018 school year. It would be small pockets of use.
