What is an asset?

An asset is a record in the AB alignment system that has a unique identifier and refers to a single piece of content in your product.

The types of assets vary, depending on what assets are in your system. Here are some examples of asset types you might be aligning or tagging:

  • Objective statement
  • Assessment item
  • Lesson plan
  • Online game
  • Website
  • Book
  • Video
  • Taxonomy node
  • Article

When aligning items, you may or may not physically see the actual content in your asset in the alignment system. Small pieces of content, such as objective statements or taxonomy nodes, may be loaded into the system so that you can see them there. Longer pieces of content or online content, however, may require you to view external PDFs or to navigate to an online system.
