I can say that this is a topic I hear a lot, so I hope this helps clear up some of the misconception.

Blackboard Ally and ReadSpeaker work in tandem to make content accessible. While Blackboard Ally is mainly used by educators to ensure that their content is made accessible, ReadSpeaker is for learners. ReadSpeaker provides students speech-enabled synchronized reading, focus tools, alternative formats and personalized settings.
