Hi all -
Just getting started with Canvas, and we are doing imports from the SIS for a small homeschool program. Our programmer is going on maternity leave, so I'm piecing together what happened: here's what I've seen.
We ran an import file that included user id and integration id last week ONLY to create Canvas users - no courses were associated with the user. I copied and pasted user emails in from our SIS teacher roster page into the course page to "add people."
Some students were added to this program, which is new and growing, so now I have users who show up in a course under the People page who don't show on the admin People page search for their name or email address.
I need to either delete the user (but I can't find them in the Admin area) or update them/upgrade them with additional info.
Suggestions on how to proceed?
Good morning, @wes_kriesel1 ...
Sorry to see that your question has been sitting out here in the Community for so long without a response. I believe that you should first make sure that people are added to your Canvas environment first as "users" ... not yet associated with any course. This can either be done manually or via SIS import.
You should then be able to add people either manually to a course or via SIS Import.
Does that help to answer your question? Let Community members know if we can be of further help...thanks!
