Turn on Course Images

Jump to solution

Where is the option to turn on "course images"? I searched the help and admin options but could not find it. https://community.canvaslms.com/docs/DOC-8409-course-images

I believe it is at Admin > Settings > Feature Options > Enable Dashboard Images for Courses.

We don't have this turned on, so I can't guarantee that is the right permission, but it looks likely.

rake.9@osu.edu is correct, once the feature is enabled for your account it can be turned on at the course level in the featured options section. If you do not see that option, you will need to ask your Canvas admin to enable the feature. It must be enabled at the account level first. Below is a nice article on adding the dashboard images.

The "Dashboard Images for Courses" is working for my courses but the image only shows up on my dashboard and not on my students dashboards. Does that make sense? Is it suppose to be like that?

ravmitterhoff‌ your students should be able to see this image as well. I tested a student account and they were able to see the image.

Yes, I see that a student who is enrolled in the course can see the course image but the images do not show at the “Public Course Index" which when turned on is at  yoursite.com/search/all_courses      Somebody should fix this!

I see that the "Public Course Index" is not designed to have images. You can see an example of it here All Courses
