Ways to explain levels of Publishing in Canvas?

Jump to solution

Hi Folks,

Was wondering if anybody had any good examples/ideas of explaining the different levels of publishing in Canvas? We're just migrating over at the moment at our uni and we're looking to create a shareable resource to help remind staff to publish their coursespaces, but also explain about publishing Modules, and individual items (Pages, Quizzes, Files etc.)

The instructor guide kind of goes a third of the way there: https://community.canvaslms.com/t5/Instructor-Guide/How-do-I-publish-a-course/ta-p/1185

Oslo Met almost push the envelope: https://oslomet.instructure.com/courses/19485/pages/publish-courses-and-content

Any other ideas? Thanks, Will (Liverpool, UK)

Explaining little things like where to click, or where to publish, usually works best for me with a GIF format 🙂 I like the resource you shared from the other college though 🙂

Thanks @epulham a gif is worth a thousand words! Nice demo! Out of curiosity what tool do you use to make your Gifs on OSX?

I used Camtasia for this one (it does a screen recording that I can directly export as a GIF file). But if you don't have that program on your computer, any screen recording can be turned into a GIF by going to this URL: ezgif.com/video-to-gif
