Whenever I log into Canvas I go to the dashboard and I can't view my courses on the dashboard tab. I couldn't see the modules or any writings so I'm confused on why I can't work from my computer because I have to work on my homework through my phone which sucks because I'm not sure why this has happened. If someone could help me that would be helpful.
Hi Bailey,
Let's see if we can get this figured out for you. I want to get a few details to clarify what you are seeing and experiencing, to make sure we troubleshoot the right area.
From what you said, it sounds like you can access the courses correctly on your mobile, but not on your computer is that correct?
If that is the case, what do you see when you click on my courses, is it a blank white screen or it looks complete, however the courses are simply missing? (If the latter is the case, can you try clicking on My Courses --> All Courses to see if the courses are there and you may need to star them to favourite them and bring them back to your dashboard).
If you are unsure, could you possibly provide a screenshot of what you are seeing so that we can help you further. Also, it never hurts trying out a different browser, (Chrome and Firefox are my personal favourites) to see if it might be something restricted to a single browser.
Look forward to hearing from you and hope that helps!
Stuart
Also had another thought, I just wanted to check that you are using a supported browser which is on the list here Which browsers does Canvas support?, we have seen some issues with blank white screens in the past on older (and unsupported) browsers.
Look forward to hearing from you!
Stuart
So this is what it shows. Whenever I click on courses I can view the courses, but still can't see everything. I'm using a mac so maybe it's the wrong settings?
Hi Bailey,
Thanks for that (and for the screenshot), I am definitely thinking it could be related to the Safari Browser version, when you click 'Safari' --> About Safari, what version number is displayed please?
A couple of things you can try:
1. Clear your temporary internet files (you can see this thread on Apple's forums how do i Clean Temporary Internet files a… - Apple Community )
2. You could install Google Chrome or Firefox to give that a go, I am thinking this is the most likely resolution that would resolve your issue as you don't appear to have any major addons running in the browser.
Please give that a go, and let us know how you get on!
Stuart
