How do I receive a notification when I send announcements to my students? How do I know that the students have received the announcement?

Hi  @yespiritu  Welcome to the Canvas Community.

Announcements are a great tool. First of all you will need to remind your students to make notifications for announcements available as they might have turned them off. Here's a guide to use to send them to remind them to make sure announcement notifications reach them - How do I set my Canvas notification preferences as a student? 

If you want the announcements to appear on your Home Page here is a guide - How do I show recent announcements in the Course Home Page? 

If you want the Announcements button to be visible to students in the course navigation menu here's a guide - How do I manage Course Navigation links? 

You will also need to check your own notification settings to make sure you get notified when you make an announcement if you would like it set up that way.

If you go to your Account button (top left), the Notifications will be there.

Hello Yen,

If you want to be notified when you post an announcement in your own classes, be sure that you have the "Announcement Created by You" notification option selected in your notification settings.  For more information about your notification settings, seehttps://community.canvaslms.com/docs/DOC-13111-4152719738 

Every Canvas user has control of their own notification settings, so your students will only be notified about new announcements if they have chosen to receive those notifications in their own notification settings.  Instructors do not have any access to or control over their students notification settings, so there's really no way for you to be sure whether or not your students have chosen to receive notifications about new announcements.
