I am consistently having this issue. I will assign a quiz and the image associated with the question will not appear when the students are taking the quiz. Instead a white box will show up. I have had to print the test repeatedly.

Any thoughts?

The issue with Chrome and the LDB, is that there is actually a seperate version of LDB for Chrome.

Hi, It's hard to know without being able to look. Definitely this can happen with copied courses. So it's good you made sure the images are in course files, and I'm guessing you re-embedded them in the quiz questions.
Some things to try: Ask your students to try on Chrome. And maybe have them clear the cache.
Does Safari vs. Chrome matter if they are using the LockDown Browser? I did re-embed the images. I tried to work with Canvas Support and they also could not solve the issue. It is now occurring in my now un-copied classes.

Though the original post was nearly three years ago, I too (in 2023) am experiencing this issue. The entire class could not see the one image in a quiz, so this was not localized to one student. Any useful suggestions appreciated.
Hello @kmeeusen - I am not sure I understand. I have a student having the same issue where they are on a MAC using LDB but when they took a Canvas Quiz (Classic) they are the only one in the course where the images did not load. Are you saying they need to download the Chrome version of LDB instead?
Hi there, @amyslack ...
Kelley has retired...so you won't likely hear from him.
Full disclosure, I have not used the Respondus LockDown Browser LDB in quite some time. My understanding of the LDB is that in order to download it, students have to have a unique link to download (at least, that's how it used to be). I don't believe that students can just download a copy by visiting a regular website. I am not sure if there is a "Chrome" version of LDB.
Unfortunately, that's about the extent of my knowledge on the LDB...and even that I don't feel 100% on. So, I'm hoping that someone else with more experience with the LDB will be able to chime in here and help answer your question. I'd be happy to be wrong on any of this...if there is more current information.
Thanks!! I appreciate the follow up - hope Kelley is enjoying retirement. I think in my case it appears to be a user who had an internet connection issue when the test loaded and the images just did not finish loading. I was worried it was more widespread to more of my MAC users but turns out it wasn't 🙂
From my understanding the unique link is more to link them to their institution since I don't have to have different links for different operating systems - its just one link specific to my institution but I am curious why I do seem to see more issues with my Mac users lately... I'll keep looking but in this case I definitely think it was a network connection issue.
@amyslack This issue of not seeing an image in a LockDown Browser quiz is an ongoing issue as I just received a support ticket regarding this issue (again). I probably see a support ticket regarding this at least once a semester. Sometimes it is just a few students and sometimes it is the entire course. That said the most reasonable solution is what you stated about an internet issue. Though a student may not see an actual break in the internet connection, it is reasonable that images may not totally download if their connection is slow. The other problem is that it is difficult to troubleshoot this because it occurs during a quiz (impossible to recreate on the fly).
