Is it possible to set instructor notifications so we know when a student has been added to or dropped from the active roster through the SIS?

There is a notification that can be set called "Administrative notifications" for teachers which covers enrollments:

However, I don't believe that it covers enrollments that are coming from your SIS via feed or API.  I've only gotten notifications when someone accepted a course invitation after being manually enrolled.

If your enrollments are coming from the SIS system at your school, you might ask if there are options for the SIS to send out notifications about enrollment changes.

We are hoping to find a way to track using SIS feed rather than a workaround.

I think that if you're managing enrollments with an SIS feed, notices to the instructor about new enrollments are going to have to come from the SIS, not from Canvas.
