[ARCHIVED] keeping my inbox open always in separate tab

How can I keep my inbox open in a separate tab at all times?  I have to get in and out of courses and it makes it difficult to email students about issues in the course when I can't toggle back and forth between them. I always have to get out of the course to get to my inbox and then get out of the inbox to go back to the course.

Hi there, @JPBarnes ...

Super easy!  When in Canvas, just right-click on your "Inbox" button, and then select the option to open the link in a new tab.  This will open your Canvas Inbox in a new brower tab, and then you can return to any other Canvas tabs that you might have open to work on your courses.  You could even have a separate tab open for each course if you wanted...along with a tab just for your Canvas Inbox.  It's really up to you on how you'd like to do this and what workflow is best for you.

Click on the hyperlink or highlight the words you want to change into a link, and then click Ctrl-K. This will open a pop-up window on the text that you want to link (or if you've already linked your text it will allow you to edit the link) where you can select the target to "open link in a new window" from the drop-down.
