Troubleshooting: Your session has expired, please refresh

When attempting to use Canvas Badges for the first time in Canvas, a user is presented with the error message, "your session has expired, please refresh."

Typically, this error is caused when a user attempts to access the Canvas Badges app in Canvas with an unverified Canvas Badges email. This can be resolved with a few simple steps.

  1. Sign into Canvas Badges with the same email address used in Canvas.
  2. If your email address is not verified, Canvas Badges will notify you that a verification email was resent.
  3. Be sure to follow the link in the verification email to gain access to your Canvas Badges account.
