How do I remove GROUPS on the app dashboard for courses that I have completed?
Or must this be done by the course instructor? No settings visible to remove or edit.
Last semesters groups fill up the course dashboard.
Thanks

Hi Tim (@zoomlanski),

If you click the Edit link at the top of the screen you shared, will it allow you to favorite an unfavorite groups? I know this works on the Android device I'm testing with right now (I do not have an iOS device here at home unfortunately).

Cody

Morning @CanvasDocTeam & Cody,

Thank you for the reply. Even with selecting favourites (currently enrolled)/starred (currently not enrolled) unfavourites/no-star, the Groups of the unfavourites/unrolled remain. In this case, it's the Interdisciplinary Groups course which was the previous semester.
iOS 13.6/iPhone 8/ Canvas App v.6.8.9

Peace

Hi @zoomlanski,

That does sound very strange. Could you send this information to Canvas Support? They can take a look at your specific Canvas instance and help troubleshoot possible causes and solution. For steps on reporting a problem to Canvas Support, see How do I get help with Canvas as an instructor?

Naomi

Unfortunately, I am a student making a bug submission. My institution does not have that option to submit a ticket available on Canvas. I did email the course instructor and ask if the Groups can be removed. No reply received yet from the instructor.

Hi @zoomlanski,

Your school can choose to customize and/or remove items from the Canvas Help menu. If the Report a Problem option doesn't display, it's been removed by your school. However, it looks like your university has an alternative link that routes through your school's service desk, "OntarioTechU Service Desk". I'd recommend using that link to report any Canvas issues.

i  have been trying to download canvas application for the past few days.its very difficult and a maze to go to a simple download section.we are now used to a simple application download which can only happen in seconds by the click of the mouse.is there any shorter and easier way of downloading canvas on laptop ?

Hi @innocentzvaraya

Thanks for your question! The Canvas Student, Parent, and Teacher apps are all meant for use on mobile devices (e.g. cell phones and tablets). There's not a Canvas app for personal computers or laptops. You'll want to open a web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, etc.) and navigate to your institution's Canvas login page. If you're not sure what that is, you can search for your institution at https://canvas.instructure.com

Hopefully this helps clarify the difference between using Canvas online and using the Canvas apps. If you have any further questions, please reach out.

Thanks,

Allie
