Catalog dropdown menu - Canvas link opens new window

In our instance of Catalog.

When I go from Canvas to Catalog using our logo in the corner of the Canvas screen I am taken to the Catalog dashboard in the same window.

In Catalog dashboard, if I click on a "Go to Course” button I am taken to the Canvas course in the same window.

However, if I select Canvas from the drop down menu in the top right hand corner, this opens a new instance of Canvas.

This is the only navigation link that opens a separate window.

Is this just us?  Is it something we can change or is it part of Catalog and if so, why?

I saw your question hasn't been answered and thought I would follow up. Which part of your question are you specifically referring to "something we can change"? Are you wanting all of the links to open in a separate tab or window?
