At the moment the only two roles in Canvas LMS recognized by Canvas Credentials are Instructor and Student. Currently, observers are not able to access the Credentials area within a course in Canvas LMS. As we will be using credentials as a tool for Parents (observers) to monitor their child's (Student) progress, we would love it they could view the pathway and their badges easily. It would also be a great selling tool for our institution.
Develop the ability to add the observer to the credentials sections as a view only user within a course. So when they are linked to a student, this automatically enrolls them in the credentials group, much like it does with a student. It is important that parents (in our case) can monitor the progress of their child (student), it is also a great selling tool for our organisation and an efficient monitoring tool for our parents (observers).
