Assignments with (1) student file uploads can be (2) bulk downloaded to the professor, and (3) bulk uploaded back to the student. Great for things that are more readily scored and/or critiqued in their own software. But they (4) can't be timed. So assignments do 1, 2, and 3 ... but not 4. Quizzes can require a (1) student file upload, and (4) be timed, and (2) bulk downloaded by the professor. But they can't be (3) bulk uploaded back to the student when I'm done scoring/critiquing them. So quizzes do 1, 2, and 4 ... but not 3.
The kludgy workaround for this is to attach scored/critiqued quiz file to individual emails to students. Not fun for 40 students. There ought to be a way to either bulk upload quizzes or to time assignments to address this problem
