Hello Early Adopter Program Participants!
We are excited to share a new update on the IgniteAI Item Authoring Assistance tool as we move into our fifth week. Your continued feedback and participation are driving the improvements we're making, and we're grateful for your insights. We have several other opportunities to provide feedback which I'll discuss later in the blog.
What's New: Item Authoring Assistance
Based on your valuable feedback, we've implemented several key updates to the Item Authoring Assistance feature:
- Improved User Experience: We've fixed a bug on the review screen that was preventing the next question from appearing after you discarded one. Now, the flow is smoother and more intuitive.
- Streamlined Review Process: The review flow has been streamlined. We've resolved a bug that was creating a confusing and repetitive loop after you made edits. You can now edit and then go straight to saving your questions.
- New File Upload Option: You can now upload source files directly from the Canvas course content menu, making it quicker and easier to create questions from your materials.
- Clearer Interface: The AI Nutrition Facts header now has a clear, clickable icon so you know exactly where to go for more information about the AI.
- Increased Stability: To ensure a more reliable experience, we have temporarily limited the number of questions that can be generated at one time to 10. We are working on a long-term solution to increase this limit in the future.
Opportunities for Additional Feedback
Though our IgniteAI Item Authoring Assistance Satisfaction Survey will close on Friday September 5, 2025 11:59 PM EST, we have some additional feedback opportunities that all EAP members can volunteer for or access via the community! Here are two that are in the works currently, with many more coming soon.
AI File-to-Quiz Conversion
We're inviting faculty, teachers and instructional designers who use Canvas New Quizzes to participate in a one-on-one design validation session. We want to hear your thoughts on our design concepts for another AI feature: IgniteAI File-to-Quiz Conversion.
These 30-minute calls will focus on gathering your feedback. You will be asked to share your thoughts on a prototype. If you are interested in participating, please reply to this blog post to let us know or send me a DM.
Ideas Exchange Opens in the Feature User Group next Monday
Next week, you’ll notice the Ideas Exchange area in the community group will be populated with ideas that have come directly from our users. Here, you’ll be able to upvote certain features or capabilities you’d like to see next incorporated with item authoring assistance.
