We are working on making an institutional policy for sending global announcements, and I am wondering if there are any similar policies out there. I found one from New Mexico State, but I'd like a few to compare before drafting something for our committee.
Our policy (although this isn't in writing) is that all announcements must be approved by our Public Information Office (PIO) before they are posted to Canvas.

And, I've flipped the format of your post over to a discussion, since a "best practices" prompt isn't likely to elicit a single "correct" response.
