My colleague @ewander and I have been designing and presenting on a course that we designed recently that allows students to engage in a choose your own adventure-style course that is student-centered and allows students to select topic areas to choose from to gain breadth of learning in the content. I work for a K-12 Charter School that is focused on student centered learning (though we tend to call it Personalized Learning). Last year we began a project to integrate our online high school courses while also blending in several 3-Week long units of choice driven content. Currently, we offer a choice of two of these integrated units (again, 3-Weeks long) at 4 points throughout the semester, so 8 options total. We are offering this for our online students in 9th and 10th grade and are beginning to develop the content for our 11th graders to release next year.
